English + NYC Discovery
Experience fully immersive English sessions combined with cultural excursions in iconic New York locations. Engage in small group conversations focusing on fluency and confidence building while exploring NYC topics and themes like art, immigration, and the city’s history.

English + NYC Discovery
Private 1:1 sessions tailored to your specific interests and needs, offering undivided attention to improve conversation skills and overall fluency. Explore weekly themes and Discovery Days crafted for you, providing personalized cultural experiences throughout NYC.
Minimum Level: Elementary
Start Dates: Flexible year-round, with a minimum of 2 sessions for group programs and minimum 6 sessions for standalone individuals program.

Combine morning group sessions with tailored individual afternoon sessions for personalized attention and faster progress. Enjoy 1-on-1 conversation practice, tailored weekly themes, and cultural excursions, all while exploring different NYC locations daily.

How it works and what’s included
The English & NYC Discovery group experience includes five days per week of fully immersive language sessions. Every morning, you meet your Language Guide on location at indoor and outdoor locations across Brooklyn and Manhattan.
From Tuesday to Thursday, groups explore iconic city spots and hidden destinations with Discovery Days, offering ample opportunities to practice speaking while discovering NYC.
On Mondays and Fridays, tailored language practice focuses on error correction. Your EO Language Guide addresses your specific needs, ensuring meaningful progress within a week.
EO’s three topic-driven Discovery Days, combined with two days of tailored error correction, provide the perfect combination of language practice and NYC exploration.
Explore the heart of NYC with our Discovery Days
Embark on an exciting journey through the streets of New York City! Three mornings per week we are on the move, practicing English and exploring the city with EO’s unique Discovery Days.
From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, Discovery Days give a fully immersive experience that help build English fluency and confidence. These excursions include walking tours, museum visits, famous landmarks, social activities, and more. We’ll delve into themes related to art, immigration, architecture, movies, politics, finance, history, and more all while experiencing the bustling energy of NYC firsthand. There is no better way to combine English and tourism!

Our new English Outdoors concept is specifically designed to immerse students in NYC life and culture, giving students the unique opportunity to practice their English in authentic NYC settings.
English Outdoors means ‘outside of the traditional classroom’ but not necessarily outside in a park: our morning English sessions take place in both indoor and outdoor locations all over the city. Instead of being in the same place every day, students will meet in a new iconic and authentic place every day.
This immersive experience includes 3 class excursions (Discovery Days) per week to explore the city and build English fluency through real-life situations and contexts.

Being immersed in the life and culture of NYC adds a unique element to the experience, as students are able to truly experience NYC life and culture first-hand in authentic settings.
NYC related topics and destinations are incorporated into the weekly conversation topics. Students are in the unique position to improve their English, expand their knowledge about NYC, be able to practice their English in truly authentic NYC settings, and live like a true New Yorker!

The city becomes the classroom! EO’s morning English sessions in New York take place in locations (both indoor and outdoor) all over the city. There is a range of indoor locations for rainy days or when it is too hot in summer/too cold in winter, so lessons are guaranteed every day, whatever the weather.
Some examples of outdoor locations include Brooklyn Bridge Park, Bryant Park, Cobble Hill Park, Madison Square Park, Domino Park, and Union Square…
Some examples of indoor locations include Brookfield Place, Essex Market, Industry City, Barnes & Nobles, 180 Maiden Lane, Park Avenue Plaza & Usagi Café & Art Gallery.
Some examples of class excursions include walking tours (Central Park, Bushwick, Roosevelt Island…), visits & tours (Federal Hall, Financial District, museums, etc)

Yes and yes! Locations have been carefully chosen based on comfort, space, ease of access, points of interest close by, proximity of public restrooms, etc. They take place in small groups of 8 maximum (average 5/6). Seated around a table.

No there is no book. English Outdoors focuses on fluency and gaining confidence instead of strict grammar instruction. Examples of fluency activities include discussions, debates, presentations, games, storytelling and of course our topic-driven class excursions: Discovery Days.

If it rains, gets too hot or too cold, sessions will switch to an indoor venue or be taken on one of our many cultural or educational Discovery Days located in indoor locations. New York City is full of great museums and semi-secret indoor public spaces!

Our homestays are located in Brooklyn, on average 30 minutes by subway to Brooklyn Heights and 35-40 minutes by subway to Lower Manhattan.
We alternate between locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan for our sessions so that students don’t always have to travel to Manhattan every morning, and also because there are plenty of great locations to explore in Brooklyn!

In New York, there's always something exciting to explore, so you will never get bored! We give you plenty of suggestions of things to do in your free time, including must-see attractions and famous sights, hidden gems, festivals, and markets, etc. And we also organize Happy Hours and other events.
Our daily location guides also include many cool ideas for things to do and places to visit in the area after class.
