5 Free Ways to Stay Active and Healthy in NYC

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to belong to a fancy gym to stay active in NYC. There are many free ways to get that post-winter endorphin rush your body deserves. Here are some of our favorite ways to burn some calories in NYC. Shape Up NYC Where: NYC Parks, Recreation Centers, in every boroughWhen: DailyThis free, drop-in fitness program has classes available in all 5 boroughs. No need to sign a yearlong sketchy contract; these classes are 100% free to join. Pick up some new dance moves or go for spin. It’s a great way to relieve some stress and meet new people.  If you don’t want to ache for days, avoid the Boot Camp classes. Healthy on the Hudson. Where: Pier 46 in Greenwich Village and Pier 25 in Tribeca.
